Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Will there be other groups on the tour bus?
A. No - Each booked tour has exclusive use of the tour bus. The maximum group size is 4 persons.
Q. Do I need to go to a particular place to join a tour?
A. No - for all tours we collect and return you to your hotel or if not staying at a hotel an agreed meeting point.
Q - Does the tour transport have good ventilation?
A - Yes. The tour vehicle has full air conditioning and climate control as well as natural ventilation through opening windows (front and rear) and through the opening glass sunroof.
Q - Is the tour transport disinfected between tours?
A - Yes. Prior to all new group tours the tour vehicle is given a deep clean as described in ‘About our Tours - Transport’ web page (Insert link). During all tours the close contact surfaces such as door handles, seats and tables are wiped with an anti-bacterial cleaner at regular intervals throughout the day and the interior vented at all visit and refreshment stops.
Q - Are face coverings required to be worn inside the tour transport?
A - If required to comply with any current Scottish Government / regional guidance then mask wearing will be mandatory for all persons travelling in the tour vehicle but otherwise will be at the discretion / preferences of the tour group. (The driver and guide may wear masks if they consider it appropriate).
Q - Do you provide masks and antibacterial hand gel if required?
A - Yes. Supplies of Grade IIR face masks and anti-bacterial alcohol hand wash and wipes will be available for guests on all tours, if required.
Q - Do guest have to be vaccinated against Covid 19 to book tours?
A - The expectation is that all overseas visitors to the UK will be required to be vaccinated to satisfy airline requirements prior to flying and then to gain access to the UK. The driver and the guide will both hold current vaccination certification.
Q. Are the tour times fixed?
A. No - Both tour pick up times and durations are flexible to suit your timing.
Q. Do I need to bring any special clothing?
A. We provide umbrellas in case of rain but would suggest a warm jacket and stout shoes for general outdoor use. The Scottish weather has a habit of being unpredictable and temperatures can often drop 10°C over the day.
Q. Do I need special equipment to be able to view the wildlife?
A. We carry 2 pairs of binoculars on the bus for use by everyone. At some locations we visit telescopes are available in the hides.
Q. What if my camera batteries run empty? Is there any provision for charging phones?
A. Yes - There are USB charging points with iPhone cables for phones and cameras on the tour bus. We definitely don't want you running out of camera power!
Q. How accessible is the tour bus?
A. Full details are provided on the About Us - Transport page on the website. We ask that any special needs are advised at the time of booking so that we can advise on both transport and selected tour suitability.
Q. If my tour is cancelled will my payment be returned?
A. Yes - in the unlikely event that your tour is cancelled by us and we have received the full tour payment your payment would be returned in full. If you cancel the booking at less than 48 hours notice and we have previously received your tour payment we will return your payment less £15 per person booked. Full terms and conditions are on our website.
Q. How frequent are the comfort stops?
A. All of our tour routes are planned to include stops at roughly 2 hour intervals. Most of the attractions visited have toilets. Stops for refreshments and lunch are usually made at serviced locations.
Q. Can I request a specific location?
A. Yes - This is best achieved by booking an Personal Itinerary Tour. However, specific requests made during ongoing tours can usually be accommodated provided any deviation from the intended tour route is not unreasonable.
