Sleepy Sporran Tours - Terms and Conditions
Sleepy Sporran Tours (‘the Company’, ‘we’) is the trading name of SimpsonBell Limited - Company Registration No 03917047 - established in 2000.
All bookings and tours carried out by Sleepy Sporran Tours are done so on the basis of these conditions, our brochure and the tour booking e-mails issued by the company for each individual booking.
Within these conditions ‘Client ‘, ‘you’ means the person making the booking and covers the individual and all members of their group if the booking is for more than one person.
None of the company’s terms and conditions are intended to contravene your statutory rights under current legislation.
We aim to keep our marketing material and website up to date with both information and prices but we reserve the right to correct errors and make the corresponding changes in the event of isolated occurrences.
2.0 Tour Pick Up, Timings and Alterations
Tours include for pick up and return from either your hotel or other agreed collection point. In some instances, i.e. collecting individual Clients, this may involve one or more locations in the same area.
All tours are of one day duration; the mileages and timings stated in our marketing information are based on travel from Perth and may vary depending upon the tour start point. The order of stated tour landmarks may also vary depending on the start point and direction of the tour.
We reserve the right in exceptional circumstances (eg adverse weather, safety issues, road accidents /diversions or long delays) to alter the tour route, if necessary.
3.0 Tour Catering
Sleepy Sporran Tours do not prepare the catering directly but purchase the food and drinks from reputable local suppliers and artisan caterers in Perthshire (list available if requested).
Special requests in respect of dietary requirements can be arranged and we will try to accommodate all reasonable requests, provided the Client advises the Company at the time of booking the tour.
The intent of each tour is that the catering is served ‘al fresco’ but in the event of poor weather we may have to offer alternative arrangements using bistro’s and hotels on the tour route. In such cases we should be able to advise of this arrangement at the start of the tour.
4.0 Our Prices
We offer an inclusive price for all of our tours, which includes the tour transport, a tour information pack, catering and entry charges to the visitor attractions we visit on a tour.
Please note that the extent of the ‘visitor attraction’ visits, are as described on the tour details, but may vary depending on the specific tour. For example due to the overall tour time allocation, on one tour the visit may (as stated) include a guided tour of a property whereas on another tour to the same property the visit may be for grounds access only.
Payment for tours are, unless agreed otherwise, to be made at the time of booking. All tour prices are in UK sterling.
5.0 Tour Bookings and Payment
Enquiries regarding tour details or to check availability can be made via the website enquiry facility ( www.sleepysporran.co.uk ), or by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by leaving your contact details on the messaging service at 01250 884 772, We will endeavour to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.
The general availability of tours is indicated on the website Booking Availability Calendar which is regularly updated but may not take account of bookings accepted during the last 24 hours.
The normal booking process is as follows;
- The Client enquiry is received and tour type, date and places are assessed for availability
- If the tour is available with the requested number of places an e-mail confirming a booking reservation will be sent to the Client along with a tour price, pick up point and time, and available payment methods. Normally this is within 24 hours of receipt.
- Once payment has been made a receipt will be sent to the Client.
- Payments can be made either by personal debit card or credit card (excluding AMEX) through Worldpay, utilising a secure email link sent with the confirmation of booking, or by BACS
In the event that we have to cancel a confirmed and paid for tour, then the Client will be offered a choice of an alternative date or a full refund of the tour price.
In the event that the Client decides to cancel a booked and paid for tour then the following will apply;
- If we have been notified at least 48 hours before cancellation - full refund
- If we are notified at less than 48 hours notice - refund of tour amount less £15 per person booked.
6.0 Tour Restrictions
We operate a strict no smoking policy on the tour transport, which includes e-cigarettes.
We regret we do not carry children under the age of 12 years (or less than 1.35m in height) on any of our tours.
Our tour transport is set up to seat a maximum of 6 ambulant people. If you or anyone in your booking group have any disability or medical condition that affects mobility or the ability to travel, this should be advised to us at the time of the booking enquiry in order that we can advise on tour and transport suitability. If we have not been notified in advance and discussed the condition with the Client we may have to refuse the person(s) from the tour.
We reserve the right to refuse to carry any person whose conduct or medical symptoms could cause offence or ill health to other passengers or our personnel.
In respect of Exclusive Tours we reserve the right to refuse bookings if we consider the requested route or places to visit or purpose of the tour is in our sole opinion considered inappropriate or could involve unacceptable risk to our vehicle or personnel. Our decision in such circumstances is final.
The Company maintains valid insurances for the purposes of its business but we would recommend that Clients arrange their own appropriate personal, travel and medical insurance.
8.0 Data Protection
We confirm that we will not use any personal or financial data given by you, for the purpose of booking a tour or making a payment, for any other purpose and will not release any of that information to any third party not directly involved in that booking.
Financial details provided by you for payments are all processed through secure portals operated by Worldpay/RBS. We will not hold any of your financial details.
9.0 Liability of our Suppliers
The company cannot accept any liability for products or services provided by independent suppliers, where their own conditions of supply are applicable.
We will not be responsible or liable for any loss, damage or claim that results from;
- unforeseen or avoidable circumstances beyond our control
- any act or omission or default by any of our independent suppliers
- any act or omission by the Client

11 Governing Law
The governing law and jurisdiction of these terms and conditions shall be the law and courts of the United Kingdom.
